Terms of Service

Athena and Oversight Labs services. Last updated 12 October 2026.

1. Who we are and what this covers

These terms are between Oversight Labs Limited (company number 17145488, 61 Rodney Street, Liverpool L1 9ER) and you. They cover the Athena service, including the API, the dashboard and any plan you choose. Enterprise arrangements are agreed in a separate written contract.

2. Plans, fees and VAT

Plans, monthly prices, included allowances and fair use limits are shown on the pricing page at the time you subscribe. Prices are in pounds sterling. Oversight Labs is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and the prices shown are the prices you pay.

3. Subscriptions and cancellation

4. Fair use and allowances

Each plan includes an input token allowance per seat, and some plans include limits on table encoding and request rates. Requests above a limit may be refused or processed with a smaller saving, and the response will say so. We may adjust limits for abuse or security reasons. Pro is for one user. Team, Team Plus, Team Max and Studio are priced and allowanced per seat. The Athena MCP server is included in Team Max and Studio. Studio also lists Oversight Crew Agents, which are not yet available: we give no release date, and the listing is not a promise of delivery by any date.

5. Savings are measured, not promised

Compression results depend on your content. The savings shown in your usage record and in the free measure tool are measured on that content only. We do not guarantee any particular ratio or saving.

6. Your provider accounts

If you send requests to an AI provider using your own key, you are responsible for that provider account, its costs and its terms. We pass your content to that provider only to complete your request.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use the services for unlawful purposes, to send content you have no right to process, to attack or probe our systems, to get around limits or security, or to resell access without a written agreement with us.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, do not pay, or create a security risk. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.

9. Changes

We may change these terms and will give at least 30 days notice by email for material changes. If you do not agree, you can cancel before they take effect.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability in any year is limited to the fees you paid in the previous 12 months. Consumers keep their statutory rights for digital content and services under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

11. Data

How we use personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that a consumer may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK where they live.
